BC5009 is a clear-amber epoxy adhesive especially formulated for the bonding of wood and urethane model board. It may be also used as a laminating resin. The resin is color indicated (green) and will turn to a clear amber color as the hardener is mixed into the resin. This indicator system promotes fast and efficient mixing of the resin and hardener, insuring that they are thoroughly mixed yet wasting no time over mixing. In cured state the mechanical properties and strengths of moulded parts are like those of injection moulded parts. For this reason inspection samples and experimental moulds are cast, which are made of injection moulded parts later. With GM 978/D parts of wall thicknesses of 5 - 8 mm are cast in simple resin moulds. Both components can be stirred bubble-free manually with a round stirring rod or bigger quantities with a mechanical mixer. Mix both compontents very carefully and intensively.
